Dr. Marshall was the first and only person in her family to attend college, earning her B.A. in psychology and sociology from UCLA in 2004 and her PhD from Stanford University in social psychology in 2011. She loves discussing the plausibility of sci-fi shows and dancing to salsa music during her work breaks!

Christina Yeghiazarian
Christina is Senior majoring in Psychology and Speech Pathology. She became interested in Media Identities and Social Attitudes after taking an Introduction to Psychology class and learning about how our biases can dictate a lot of our behaviors. Christina is passionate about understanding how the movies, music and things we read influence us as individuals and groups. She is a member of Psi Chi, Academic Queers, and the National Speech Language and Hearing Association. Portland State University offers a bilingual Masters in Communication Disorders and Christina plans on pursuing that degree after graduation so that she can serve communities with large Spanish speaking populations as a speech therapist.

psychology with a minor in sociology. She is fairly new to the research lab, but it has been such
an amazing experience for her thus far. She is also a part of the work study program; which
allows her to work on campus in the office of admissions. Unfortunately, she is approaching her
last year here at NSC. She has goals of attending graduate school to become a youth mentor
and change lives. She is also an active youth leader and teacher at her church, where she has
started mentoring youth.

Hi my name is Diana, I am a first generation college student. A local of Las Vegas. Spent many years riding the roller coaster on the strip and playing in the arcades. I am a transfer student from CSN, where I attained my Associates Degree. I am very happy at Nevada State College. What I love the most at Nevada State are the incredible views and the amazing wildlife at every corner. I hope to go to graduate school in the field of experimental psychology. I enjoy being outdoors and going to rock concerts. Deuvall spent his junior year studying Nevada’s emerging cannabis industry. He works in public relations to destigmatize cannabis by educating others on how it can be used to help sick people and injured/recovering athletes. He also raises awareness on the economic benefits cannabis can bring to the local community by funding education and creating new jobs. Deuvall is a triathlete and ultra-marathoner, when he is not spreading the good news about marijuana you can find him swimming in the lake, biking in the desert and running through the mountains. He graduates May 2016.
